Fix-It And Forget-It Kids' Cookbook by: Phyllis Good *Review and Giveaway*

Monday, October 4, 2010

Yum, I love reviewing cookbooks!  This book has tons of recipes, that are great to start before you go trick-or-treating, and eat when your done!  They are also great because their perfect for the kids to help with, and the cookbooks has about every recipe that any child will love!  My two favorites were the Red Hot Apple Cider, and the Tasty Tomato Soup (who wouldn't want these waiting for them, after a cold night of trick-or-treating?)! I also love that in the beginning of the book she gives kids safety tips, tells them about the slow cooker, and equipments, measurements, and helps parents and children connect!
Now kids can prepare food in a slow cooker! No open flame! No hot stove top!
Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker offers kids the direction they need to prepare main courses, snacks, and desserts.
"Take your children a step beyond nachos and cupcakes," says author Phyllis Pellman Good. "Let them prepare a tasty main dish in that easy-to-get-along-with appliance — the slow cooker."
Each recipe includes a full-color photo of the finished dish. Each recipe gives clear step-by-step instructions. Each supplies a list of ingredients and a list of equipment needed to complete the prep.
"This is one friendly and engaging way to bring your children into the kitchen with you," states Good. "When they help to fix a meal that they and their family enjoy, they'll be back to make more."
Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook includes Fruity Waffle Topping, Cheesy Egg and Broccoli Breakfast Casserole, Big Juicy Burgers, Super Spaghetti Sauce, and Chocolate Covered Pretzels. Plus 44 more "may-I-have-another-helping" favorites.
Overall we all enjoyed this cookbook! It was a lot of fun, and very easy to make the recipes.  I also like using a slow cooker because I don't have to watch the food all the time.  And being a mom, I'm very busy.  In my opinion the slow cooker is better than sliced bread....LOL! :)  I would recommend Fix-It and Forget-It kids' Cookbook to any parent, or really anyone that enjoys cooking!  Fix-It and Forget-It kids' Cookbook by: Phyllis Good retails for $19.99.  And now for the fun part, the giveaway details are below.  Good luck and have fun!
