I Am Hutterite by: Mary-Ann Kirkby *Review, and Giveaway*

     I don't usually read autobiography's.  As, I find a lot of them, kinda boring.  But that's just me!  But anyway...I really enjoyed this book!  I have to say this is probably the first autobiography that I've enjoyed.  Maybe my taste in books is just changing.  But I don't think it really has anything to do with taste, and all about whether or not the book is good.  And let me tell you this book, is very good!  Before I started reading this book, I had never heard of the Hutterites.  But as I was reading, I found their way of life so interesting.  And I found the courage of Mary-Ann's family so amazing!  Her story is so incredible.  And would touch anyone that knows what it's like to not fit in!
    In 1969 Ann-Marie Donn's parents did the unthinkable.  They left the colony with seven children, and little else, to start a new life.  Overnight, they were thrust into a society they didn't understand, and that knew little of their unique culture.  The transition was overwhelming.  Desperate to be accepted, ten-year-old Ann-Marie was forced to deny her heritage in order to fit in with her peers.  She Kept her secret well into adulthood, hoping to avoid the prejudice so associated with her culture.
    I Am Hutterite Chronicles her quest to come to terms with a painful past.  Rich with memorable characters and vivid descriptions, this ground-breaking narrative shines a light on intolerance, illuminating the simple truth, that beneath every human exterior beats a heart longing for understanding a acceptance.
    Overall I really enjoyed this book.  Although it had a slow start.  It made up for it, with an amazing story!  I would recommend this book to anyone!  Especially if at some point in your life you felt out of place or different from everyone else!  And now for the fun part!  The giveaway details are below! :)  Good luck, and have fun! :)
