We recently rescued our "Chiweenie" from an abusive family. He was only seven weeks old when we found him. The family he was with had a little girl that enjoyed hitting him with the metal part of his leash, kicking him, and carrying him buy his neck. Even before we knew that he was being abused we wanted to try and get him. Then a friend of mine told me that her family went to visit the family and saw what was going on.
So I gave the woman a call and told her that if she ever wanted to get rid of the puppy that my family would love to take him. We'd been looking for a good small dog for awhile and that we thought he would make a great addition to our family, and to think and about it and give me a call. That same night I got a call for the lady saying to come pick him up as soon as possible. So we got in the car, picked him up and drove him home. He's been happy and healthy ever since. It took him awhile be ok around our daughter but we explained to her that the other little girl was very mean to him, and that he was now afraid of children. She understood and took her time getting to know him, and now they are inseparable they do everything together! He even got the name killer for chasing off a big dog in our neighborhood lol! :)
If you purchase a product on the AnnieWear website, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to animal rescue charities! April is the ASCPA’s Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. To commemorate, AnnieWear is joining the ASPCA in letting others know about animal cruelty and the link to human abuse. Each year, the ASPCA urges people across the country to join the cause and “Go Orange for Animals.” It is so important that we teach children and encourage adults to be kind to all living creatures. Show your support to organizations that work to end cruelty. And remember to report animal neglect to your local humane society. Every little bit we do can help save animals!
