Healthy Kids Day At The YMCA

Our local YMCA was hosting a free Healthy Kids Day last weekend, so Chris and I decided we would take the kids and see what it was about.  We are so glad we did, we had a great time together as a family, and it was so much fun to watch the kids try new activities!  Plus we scored tons of freebies (which I love lol)!

We weren’t sure what to expect so I dressed everyone in comfortable clothes (T-shirts, gym shoes, shorts, and everyone took a jacket just in case).  After we got there the lady told us if we brought swimming suits that we could go swimming so next time I’ll be bringing swimming suits, and also workout shorts for Chris and I so we can take turns using the gym).  But still everyone had a blast, and they had so many great activities for the kids to enjoy and booths to look at.

Some of the great activities the kids got to try was, dancing classes, a bouncy house, planting sunflower seeds, making a craft, getting their faces painted, seeing a fire truck, doing a martial arts type class, and hitting punching bags.   We also got tons of free stuff including packages of cookies, Kellogg’s breakfast shake mix, loafs of bread, crayons, stickers, tons of pens and pencils, coloring books, and tons of great snacks.  I also entered several giveaways while we was there, and a couple days later I got two calls that I had one items (a $15 Kroger gift card, and a jumbo pool noodle).

We had so much fun spending time together as a family, and it was all free other than the gas to get there (all the snacks held the kids over until we got home and had a cookout).  The most important part is that the kids had a great time!  Audrey and Banner discovered that they loved dancing class, and we are considering putting them in one.  What fun, free activities are you and your family enjoying this spring?  I would love to hear about them!
